Welcome to Third Grade in 3C!

Dear Third Graders and Parents,

Welcome to third grade!  I am truly looking forward to our year together, as we have wonderful learning ahead of us.  Be prepared to inquire, collaborate, and explore!

On this website, you will find various resources for our class, as well as student e-Portfolios (soon to come!) and our classroom calendar.  For daily updates about our classroom, please follow the classroom Instagram (Condors3C) and Twitter (@Condors3C) accounts.

What's in Store for Week 1?

This week, we will take time to learn all about our friends in the classroom, establish classroom norms and routines, and begin reading and math class structures.  We will also begin to set class goals and learn what it means to have a student-led classroom.  That's right, third grade - you are in charge of your own learning!

A quick note about homework:  

As is consistent with all third grade classes at Lincoln, homework packets will be sent home each Monday, and are to be returned every Friday in each student' homework folder (which students have been asked to provide, as listed on the supply list).  Tasks will consist of important review material and weekly reading, yet will also be short so as to respect your valuable family time and extracurricular activities.

This week, however, will be a bit different:  We will have some special getting-to-know-you tasks.  As part of the preparation for these fun community-building activities, students will be expected to bring the following as a special assignment:

Monday's SPECIAL Assignment:

For Tuesday, please bring a souvenir of something from your vacation.  Whether you traveled or enjoyed time at home, we want to hear about your vacation!  Choose an item:  It can be anything, so long as it reminds you of the summer.  Please be sure to bring it on Tuesday morning for sharing!

Weekly Homework Assignment:

By Friday, please complete the Student Survey and return to school.  Please remind your parents to do the same!
