Peace On Earthbench Part 2

The last week of school, our 4th Grade Geckos finished constructing their Peace On Earthbench!  The project was ambitious and took vast amounts of collaboration and perseverance.



Fourth Graders, I am PROUD of you for believing in yourselves and each other as you collaborated to provide CIPLC with a place of gathering and sharing.  Enjoy your summer, and get ready to paint the bench as an opening activity in August!

MAC Project Update

We completed the construction of our Peace on Earthbench, just in time for the end of the year!  The class worked diligently to bind bottles together with chicken-wire into the form of a bench, using a wooden frame for internal support.  Next, Mr. Oswaldo guided them in mixing clay and piling onto the bottles to form the final product!

All we have to do now is paint the bench on the first day of school in August  (since the clay will continually crack as it dries, we needed to give the bench time before we decorate it).  We can't wait to engage in such an empowering first-day-of-school activity, and to spread the message about global awareness from the get-go for the 2015-2016 school year!
