____Finish reading your book and tell Ms. Hodges the title.

____Pick your favorite scene in the story, or brainstorm a scene in the book that you want to represent in your book diorama.  Write down the moment in the book that you want to create a picture of when you make your diorama.

___Identify at least 2 characters.  Brainstorm how they will be made and what they will look like, and draw your plans to turn into Ms. Hodges.  Think:  “What characters are most important in the story?”  “How can I make their personalities shine through?”  “What materials will I use to make them?”

Monday, April 18

___Brainstorm how you will show the setting in your scene.  Think:  What does the setting look like at this part in the story?  What materials will you use?  

Monday, May 2
___Write a paragraph that summarizes the plot on an index card.  Make sure you summarize the most important details from the beginning, middle, and end.  Use only a few interesting details in the summary, such as descriptions and dialogue.  Also, remember to use characters’ names and the setting.
